Nikon has presented the new COOLPIX L620, a compact digital camera with a 14x super zoom and 18.1-megapixel CMOS. It will be available in September for around 250 USD.
Earlier this week, we talked about photography on our sister site MuyCanal, with a headline that speaks for itself: The smart phone is changing the market and the sales of compact digital cameras declined 42 % during the first five months of this year, according to the Camera and Imaging Products Association.
The photography market is in crisis, and some think everything needs to change; even some of the big names, like Canon, Fujifilm, Panasonic and Olympus, are having rough times. “Everyone knows the market is changing. The question is what can we do about it? “
Models like this new Nikon COOLPIX L620 may be the answer with its clear objectives: a better quality, easier operation and reduced price.
The Nikon COOLPIX L620 inherits its design from the L610 with a big and good-looking body that makes it easier to handle, big buttons and a 3-inch screen. It’s available in red and black.
It features a Nikkor lens with 14 levels of optical zoon (25 to 3500 mm) and an 18.1-megapixel CMOS sensor with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 3200.
It also features optical stabilization, automatic modes to take the best pictures with the least effort, and lots of filters for quick and good-looking image edition.
The Nikon COOLPIX L6200 records 60i Full HD video and features a slow-motion video recording mode. Its HDMI connectivity allows you to enjoy your pictures in any kind of screen or monitor.
It uses AA batteries, which you can get anywhere, so you don’t have to worry about charging the battery. It will hit the market on September and will cost around 250 USD. Like we mentioned, it’ll be available in red and black.
Obviously, this camera cannot compare with the versatility of a smart phone, but on the other hand, the image quality you will obtain with even the best smart phone is nothing compared to a good camera.
