The Nikon series lenses for APS-C captors welcome the new 18-140 mm f3.5-5.6 DX VR. This stabilized and light zoom (weights less than 500 grams) is on the middle ground between the 18-105 mm f3.5-5.6 and the popular 18-200 mm f3.5-5.6.
With coverage equivalent to 27-210 millimeters in universal films, its optical structured is comprised of 17 elements distributed in 12 groups, and it features a low-dispersion ED element and aspheric lens to minimize aberrations.
Nikon has still not said anything official about its price or release date.
Designed to be used along with this kind of zoom, and also to accompany the simplest reflex cameras, Nikon has also presented the new Speedlight SB-300 flash. This very small unit -interesting for the compact Coolpix cameras with hot shoe, Nikon says- offers a guide number of 18.
It’s simple and easy to use, or at least that’s what Nikon says, its tipper head can be set in a 120-degree angle to bounce back light beams and obtain some nice-looking effects.
