Panasonic introduces the new Lumix GH4, a camera designed for professional users based on the Micro Four Thirds technology. The new GH4 features the latest technologies, and its interchangeable lens offers excellent image quality, exceeding even its predecessor, the GH3. The new Panasonic Lumix GH4 evolves in performance, durability and performance to meet the needs of the most demanding users. It is the world’s first camera that can record 4K video (4096×2160 video at 24 fps and 3840×2160 video at 30 fps) in MOV or MP4 format. The user can record full HD videos with a bitrate of 200 Mb per second or at 100 Mbps for an unlimited time.

The new camera can also shoot in RAW format, and you can even edit them from the camera itself. This new model features Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. Also, with the Panasonic Image App, you can control the camera via a Smartphone or a Tablet. The user can remotely adjust the shutter speed, exposure or aperture, among many other parameters.
Interchangeable lenses
The new Digital Live MOS sensor that the DMC-GH4 features has some improvements in regards to quality, sensitivity and rapid response. The sensor is about 50% faster, which minimizes the rolling shutter effect. The Venus Engine processor has also been improved, and now has a new quad-core CPU that allows high speed signal processing, required to record in high-quality formats such as 4K. It also has an advanced noise reduction system, allowing you to achieve 25600 ISO. This model also offers a shutter speed of 12fps (AFS) to about 40 (including the RAW format) or about 100 (not including RAW) to 7 fps (AF tracking) to capture moving objects easily.
AF contrast system
Panasonic has also improved the AF contrast system thanks to the DFD (Depth from Defocus) technology, which reduces the focusing time to delivering ultra high-speed AF of approximately 0.07 seconds. Panasonic has not only improved the overall speed, but has also added face and eye detection features, improving the 23 focus areas of the DMC-GH3 to 49 in this new model. You can select the specific areas you want to focus on.
OLED display
The camera’s screens feature OLED technology, which enables high-speed response in addition to an improved resolution. The OLED viewfinder the GH4 has offers a contrast of 10,000:1 for better color reproduction. Just like its predecessor, the rear 3-inch touch screen can be rotated.
Design
In order to support the most demanding applications, this camera is made from magnesium alloy. Like its predecessor, the Panasonic Lumix GH4 is waterproof and dustproof. It has a shutter speed of 1/8000, which has also been redesigned to reach approximately 200000 shots.
