Nothing better than an original product in order to face a saturated market such as photography. After the “experiment” that led to the Pentax K-S1, Ricoh has just introduced the smallest water and dust resistant SLR – their new Pentax K-S2. Fantastic design, remarkable spec and an excellent connectivity with enough arguments to succeed.
The new Pentax K-S2 comes with a compact body (122, 5 x 91 x 72, 5 mm, 678 grams of weight) and a 100 point seal to ensure the protection of the internal components. The camera features a 20 megapixel CMOS sensor, and it comes without a low-pass filter (incorporates a sophisticated system in order to avoid the moiré effect). Offers an 11 point focus system (9 arranged crosswise) and allows to work between ISO 100 and 51.200.
Among other details, it is worth noting its 3” removable and tilting LCD screen (921,000 pixels), the possibility of recording 1080p videos up to 30 frames, the integrated mechanical stabilizer or the 5.5 photograms per second burst function. Pentax has included Wifi and NFC connectivity and a second shitter butter that is activated when rotating the screen 180 degrees, ideal for professional quality selfies. At the moment there is no confirmed information about the pricing and release date. This post will get an update right after we have more information.
