The Micro four thirds System now includes the luminous Leica Nocticron 42.5 mm f1.2

After being presented as a prototype during the last edition of Photokina in the fall, Panasonic has taken advantage the release of the Lumix DMC-GX7 to talk about the Leica Nocticron 42.5 mm f1.2 again. Despite the press note talks about “commercialization”, there’s still no official info about its price or release date.

In any case, the brand did say that this fixed lens –equivalent to 85 mm- is the most luminous among the ones available for the Four Third micro bayonet. Of course, we’re talking about the manual focus models, since other alternatives such as the Voigtländer Nokton 42.5 mm f0.95 exist.

This new Leica is also the first of the Nocticron series, very similar in name to the mythical Noctilux with M mount, also known for their great luminosity, and an aperture of f0.95 in the last version of the 50-millimeter model.
